Precious Moments over the Summer

precious moments2

As most of you are aware, I spent the summer exhausting myself and everyone around me in the name of Shakespeare.  What you might not be so aware of is that in between many very special Shakespeare moments there were quite a few precious memories made which weren’t even slightly linked to Shakespeare.  Don’t believe me?  Read on…

We found time to make jam with our abundance of home grown plums:

Time to generally fool about:

In fact we did that quite a lot:

It seems tongues out was the in look:

Time to fit in some yoga:

Some reading and playing:

Some creating:

Time to play with life size teddy bears:

and dance a little:

As well as host four birthday parties:

and, of course, much time for cuddling:

We do like a good hug in this family!

I’ll be posting more about A7’s Potions Party next week, along with the whole Shakespeare Unit on one page.  After which we will be leaving the summer behind for good as we leap frog into my favourite of seasons – Autumn.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

  1. It looks like you all had an awesome time. Making jam looks like fun. I am going to add to my list of things I want to try.

  2. HA! I love all the photos. It is really hard to choose a favorite, but Jester Gary probably comes near the top. Of course, the children are just precious, even with tongue out! It is nice to see you had more than Shakespeare going on this summer. The jam looks yummy. Care to share the recipe?
    Have a great week, Claire!

    1. I make jam exactly the same way each and every time. It always turns out well but will sound a bit hit and miss! I collect fruit (however much I have – I never weigh – just enough to make a decent amount of jam) I boil up, add a whole packet of jam sugar, boil some more and then chuck in the jars. Because I don’t boil up the jars to sterilise I keep it in the fridge and it never grows any mold. This last batch has lasted us the whole summer and we have it every day. It was very, very good!
