…..the older children were doing evening chores when I noticed T13 seemed to be doing more wandering around than work.
I pulled him up on this, saying ‘Son, you don’t seem to be doing an awful lot of work right now.’
To which he replied, with a twinkle in his eye, ‘I’m moving my muscles which requires force and I’m covering distance. ย Therefore I am working.’
I raised an eyebrow.
He continued, ‘Well, Work equals Force times Distance. ย Therefore I conclude that I must in deed be working!’
There’s not much I can say to that, is there?
Oh, he would fit right in around here – my house is full of smart alecks too:) Clever young man!
Smart aleck – Yep, that just about sums him up nicely! ๐
Oh man! That is so my two, wow I thought I was alone with kiddo’s like that. Hehe! Love it, thanks so much for sharing, totally laughed out loud.
๐
Nope not just yours…
My son Dean would love him. They could be a slow working duo.
Blessings, Dawn
Lol
My 14 year old laughed at this with me as we have just been having the same sort of conversations about him not pulling his weight since he became a teenager. I love your posts so much and read every word you write although I rarely comment.
Thank you so much for your lovely words x
Well he does have a point ๐
Yup, that he does! He makes me giggle every day. The boy is too smart for his own good!
Got a chuckle out of that!
Oh, me too ๐
Science gone bad! So funny.
Ha, yes. Home education has come back and bit me on the bottom ๐
Yeah, you can’t really argue with that logic. ๐
Well, I could, but I’d lose ๐
But is it productive work? Hmmm? Inquiring minds want to know…
I can just see responding like that.
Ah, maybe I wouldn’t lose. Maybe I’ll just ask him it is productive work. Although I could almost bet he would come back with another, equally smart aleck, retort.
Hmm. Must be something about boys his age. We have one, too.
I have to say, usually he is fairly good at the whole chore thing….he is always a smart aleck though ๐
Too funny!
I know, isn’t he?
