Seasons of Joy Weekly Journal

Ribbet collageSeasons of Joy

The last time I wrote a Seasons of Joy post was October 2015.  Shortly after I decided to try to monetise my blog, changing my priorities somewhat in the process.  For months this felt awkward and uncomfortable, until in February I jacked it all in and returned to my roots.  I have missed writing the Seasons of Joy posts because they forced me to think of myself outside the mother, homeschooler, wife mode and to focus on the Claire part of me.  One day the children will up and leave for pastures green, and whilst I will still be a wife and a mother, it won’t be with the same all-encompassing intensity.

This post will be full of tidbits from my life during that particular week.  To be honest, I’m not sure it will be terribly interesting to anyone, but it will be important to me.  For more information about where these posts first came from do read my very first Seasons of Joy post written at the beginning of last year.

I intend to share about my (very slow but nevertheless happening) weight-loss journey with God by my side;  my homemade recipes for household cleaners/ laundry and any experimentation I might be in the middle of; books I am currently reading, as I attempt to get back onto a more balanced reading list (Note to self: not every book needs to be home schooling based!) and any and all other bits and pieces I have been getting up to over the week.

These posts will begin next Saturday (2nd April).  As for next week, the children, Gary and I are ‘going’ on a staycation.  Gary has the whole week off, and we intend to spend lots of glorious time together.  I’m also taking the week off, with no homeschool (of course) and no blogging!

I am in the process of answering the questions I was asked about budgeting for homeschool and how/when I plan for it, and these posts will be with you as soon as I finish them 🙂

I hope you all have a wonderful and peaceful Easter this year, and you get to spend it with the people you love.  ‘See’ you in a week!

  1. We’re just finishing up a “staycation” – I’m sure yours will be wonderful! Happy Easter to you all…..looking forward to seeing more posts later.

  2. Claire, I love your seasons of joy posts. They are my favourite. The seasons of joy posts help me to see Claire, my friend, not just my children’s friends mum, and even though you are an amazing mum, just as Claire, you are fab.
