Changing Education Paradigms

A friend of ours posted this on facebook.  It is only part of a full lecture, but is well worth a look, if only for the incredible animation.

And the full lecture without the animation:

And in the interests of a balanced view, there is also a (long) rebuttal essay on the following link, which may be of interest.  All very thought provoking, if you are in the mood to be provoked.  Enjoy!

  1. Interesting…and along with drugging them, here in the US we are making their breaks shorter so they can have more time to spend on their subjects. 🙁

  2. I saw Sir Ken Robinson speak here in Vancouver. He was indeed delightful to hear. I’ve seen that youtube clip before and it definitely does she’s some light on our brick and mortar schools.

  3. I had the opportunity to watch the animated video yesterday. Very interesting and just another reason to home school. Loved the US part. So VERY true. I am going to try to watch the full version at a later time. The animation was awesome. Thank you for sharing.

    1. Thanks for the recommendation. I’ve definitely read one of Gatto’s book, when I was first looking into home schooling. I think it was ‘Dumbing Us Down’. I’ll look this one up, thank you.
