One of my goals this Easter was to test the waters and see if the Mr Men theme was likely to hold my younger girls attention each Friday next year. When I realised that they would I wanted to start making some play things to put in the littles Mr Men and Little Misses box for next year.
First up was some puppets. A4 in particular loves playing with puppets and telling her own story with them. So today we sat down and made some special Mr Men themed ones.
I had a heap of foam in a drawer and I always have lolly sticks on hand. After all, one never knows when one might need a lolly stick or twenty! This meant that for A4 and I this toy was made for free.

Here are a few of the characters I cut out and assembled before I stuck the stick on:
And my absolute favourite: Mr Tickle:
A4 and I then stuck each one to a lolly stick and stored them in a box for quiet time the next day:
So much fun, for so little effort and money!
Super Cute 🙂
Thank you!
Thanks for explaining what you did. I found it very helpful.
Those look great! Thanks for the inspiration 🙂
Thank you!
Great Idea, Claire.xo
T’was easy! Thanks for popping by Caroline. It was lovely talking to you on Tuesday. Take care of you and your family!
Oh these are so cute! My kids would love this too!
Thank you! They only took minutes to make. So easy!
I am in love with these! You did such a great job. Going to store this idea away for my youngest!
Thank you!
Love the Mr Men, these are fab!
Thank you!
Oh my, I remember loving Mr. Men when I was a kid! These are adorable!
Thanks Tanya. They are a perfect quiet time toy.
I’ve loved Mr Men since I was a kid (I’m nearly 40 now!) and was thrilled to find a couple of videos of the old show at my local grocery store. We have several books and my kids love them too! This is a great activity!
Thank you! We’re really enjoying everything Mr Men!
My mom read those books to us when we were kids. She still has them and I like reading Mr. Messy and the others too.
Yeah, I remember reading them when I was little too. I thought I’d resurrect them for study, but there are not many ideas out there to help.
I remember this series from when I was in the classroom. Your puppets are awesome! I will be sharing this post on Pinterest and Facebook.
Thank you, that’s so kind!
Awesome…thanks so much 🙂
No problem, my pleasure!
