Having gone down the Irish street we entered the docking area to the ship that would take us to the American side:
And yes, that is my husband carrying my hand bag. He carried it so I could take photos. It takes a very confident man to carry a woman’s bag and wear pink crocs (not allowed to show that picture!). Thanks sweetheart!
We went to get our tickets:

And then boarded the ship:

Aboard the ship we were able to look at the sleeping arrangements:

We saw the food preparation area:
We went upstairs to the top deck via some very steep steps:

And finally we left the ship to enter America:
I’ll post on the American side tomorrow.
This sounds fantastic. I hadn’t heard about this before but this reminds me that we need to visit Northern Ireland sometime!
You should go, it is so beautiful!
no excuses Sarah!! I hope angelicscalliwags also visited the Ulster Folk and transport museum as it is fantastic too 🙂
The pink crocs are for private use only!!
Or for bribery in the future….wahaahaahaha (that’s an evil laugh, by the way!)
Never give in to bribery. They may go missing!!!!
Wow! What an awesome museum. I can’t wait to hear about the rest tomorrow.
Blessings, Dawn
I have to admit, I enjoyed the American bit the most, on account of the prairie house!
Wow, so much to see just on that one ship! Looking forward to tomorrow’s post. 🙂
It was interesting how small everything was. Except the steps, they were very steep.
What a great museum. Looks like y’all had a great time. The first time I read your blog, I knew we had much in common. Now, I know our husbands have a lot in common, also:) Have a wonderful day!
LOL! Gotta love a man with a bag!! Oh and pink crocs, but shhhh that’s a secret!
I love that museum. Thank you for sharing it with us. It is amazing how much they went through to get to America.
I know! I would not have liked the beds, they were tiny and very, very uncomfortable!
What an awesome trip! I look forward to the next post! What a wonderful experience for you and your family!
Thanks Amber. It was!
I think, and I may be wrong, we’re about 6 inches taller in general than they were.
I knew we were definitely longer but wasn’t sure by how much. Still doesn’t look that comfortable though!
hmmm…. I have a suspicion I would have knocked myself senseless OFTEN in those days. I am 1.78 m tall…. sorry… we don’t do inches and feet this side of the pond, but either way, I too would have struggled in those sleeping quarters! I would love to see that Museum… I have a deep love (read: obsession) of museums of all kind. 😉
LOL! The mattresses were very thin and lumpy too. Do you think we might be a tad spoilt in the area of comfort?
