I’ve had many attempts at making A6 notebooks. However, not having the right equipment was limiting as I wasn’t able to create the quality I wanted. In comes my incredible mum who gifted Gary and I some money at the end of last year. I spent mine on a long-arm stapler and an industrial sized paper cutter. Now, I already owned these items (apparently) but they weren’t able to cut or staple the number of pages I wanted them to. Also, the paper cutter did not clamp the sheets of paper firmly enough to prevent movement. This meant I was left with a badly cut, uneven note pad.
Making A6 Notebooks Using my Greeting Cards
I came up with the idea of using my greeting cards as the cover for my notebooks as a way of using up unsellable cards. But actually, in and of itself, using greeting cards is a great idea (even if I do say so myself!). It means I don’t have to make any specific covers to print out, and being A6, they are the perfect size as well.

Should you wish to join me in making A6 notebooks, you will need the following:
- A greeting card (you could even buy one of mine, if you like 😊 )
- Some A4 paper (I use Nuco Navigator Colour Documents 120gsm)
- A long arm stapler which staples the number of sheets you want to make your notebook with (I use Rapesco 1480 ECO 790 Heavy Duty Long Arm Stapler with 2000 Staples, 50 Sheet Capacity)
- A guillotine strong enough to cut through the number of sheets you want to make your notebook with (I use HFS(R) Heavy Duty Guillotine Paper Cutter Commercial Metal Base)
