I’ve done quite well taking photos this month! Yay me! We’ve had bird watching, birthdays, a mini get away, a solo date up to London, many visits to Charlotte, a rather large parent-free birthday party and some extra bits and pieces. It’s been a good February with very little of my normal February blues.
Bird Watching
You may remember that mum had surgery to remove cancer in January. The Great Big Garden Bird Watch, which happens every year in Great Britain, happened to fall shortly after mum’s surgery. As she was recuperating, I thought this might be something we could do together without mum needing to leave the house.

We made up a lovely salad, our favourite cheeses and some biscuits with some ginger ale (for me) and some Prosecco (for mum). And we got counting. It was raining and we’re both pretty much as blind as a bat…we were useless. No, actually, we were worse than useless. But we had such a lovely giggly time together (not) spotting any birds!
Charlotte’s New Home
We visit the town Charlotte lives in every Wednesday for a couple of hours. If she’s not at work she comes and joins Becs, Abs and me (oh, and sometimes Lillie if she’s off work).

We wander round the charity shops, stop at one of the numerous coffee shops and pop to a fabric shop where I buy myself one meter of Christmas fabric for our homemade Christmas:

Occasionally we pop into Charlotte’s work to say hi to her work colleagues and buy some books (ummm, that’s why we don’t go there every week…books are too much of a lure for all of us!).

If we have time, we grab a tea at Charlotte’s new home:

Rebecca’s Birthday
Becs turned 14 during February. We had a family dinner of waffles, fruit salad, bacon and sausages (everything that Becca asked for). Charlotte brought a dairy-free cake which Abigail could eat (Abs usually gets something different). Charlotte lives near a fabulous little bakery which only has vegan stuff. So, literally, everything she can eat. I can’t tell you just how happy this makes her!

Becs also had a surprise party which Lillie (mainly), with the help of Abs, Evie and Charlotte, organised for her. There were many (many) teens at our house that night. But Thomas and Ads were there on the door (so to speak) whilst Lillie made non-alcoholic cocktails (or cocktails, if you’re in the know):

Our Get Away
Lil even paid for Gary and I to go away for the night for the night of the party. It was so lovely and such a treat:

Solo Date Up in London
I’ve already written about my solo date to the Victoria and Albert Museum. I had such a lovely peaceful day. An introvert through and through, every single minute was super special for me. I made a nice little video as well 😊

Family Night
We have a family night every Monday. If everyone makes it, we might watch a video or play some games together. If it’s just the five of us who live here, we watch Chicago FD and eat a really tasty but simple meal of pasta, mini plum tomatoes, spinach and mozzarella in a creme fraiche sauce topped with fresh pesto. Yummy!

Bits and Bobs
The next photo collage has the last few photos I took over the month. Lillie on night’s out with her uni friends. Abigail and Granny went out for lunch to the local Spaghetti Tree. On my solo date I walked past the Elizabeth sign and took a photo 😊 Thomas bought himself a new car. And I drew a hen.

Didn’t I do well taking photos?
