It’s that time again, and darn it, I’m still not very well! We have had two nasty infections (cold\flu and a chest infection) going round our family and two of us caught them both, me being one. I’m so run down by the infections I now have a growing rash which itches like heck. Apart from the itchiness and soreness of the rash (it looks like chicken pox but it’s not 🤷♀️ ), things seem to be improving in the snot department!
So, it is this time of year again, when I make wildly unrealistic New Year’s goals and then slowly fail at achieving even one of them! I love the idea of a new start though, so here we go again…
Goal One
The first goal will surprise absolutely no-one, and that is to continue my health and fitness journey. I do actually feel like I made some progress in this area last year and I want to get some momentum going again. I’m not going to set specific goals here, but I have got myself a journal where I’ll be breaking the big ‘get healthy’ goal down into smaller achievable mini goals. But exercise, healthy eating and intermittent fasting will make the list.
Goal Two
The second goal is to read 150 books in 2024. Some of these will be rereads from last year, because they were so good and so motivating, I want to revisit them in 2024. However, most will be new-to-me books. I’m going to start a new page on my blog which will simply contain a list of the books I am reading/have read.
Goal Three
My third goal is to pass my second year of my master’s degree. I hesitate to aim for a top grade because they are looking for clinical practice reflections, of which I have zero!
Goal Four
My fourth goal is a really small goal, but I’m hoping its smallness will mean great success. I really want to keep our bedroom spotlessly tidy. I’ve never hidden the fact that I’m next to useless at housekeeping. I do my best but really my best isn’t anything to write home about! As I’m working with an insomnia specialist to try to sort out that pesky sleep of mine, creating a haven within the walls of our bedroom seems like a sensible place to start.
Goal Five
My fifth goal is to learn to make a different vegan meal each week so that by the end of the year I have lots of healthy vegan meals to choose from.
And Goal Six
My sixth goal is a collection of small business goals which I chat about in my new YouTube video below:
What are your goals for 2024?
