This post includes all of the work we have done on Ancient Mesopotamia. I will be starting a new unit with my little ones next year, so this will be added to. Mesopotamia was our first foray into curriculum free study, and we loved it! The children are aged about 7 during the first four posts and about 9 in the last one.
Mesopotamia: Part 1 – Resources
Mesopotamia: Part 2 – Writing and hands-on activities
Mesopotamia: Part 3 – Wrap Up Feast and Field Trip
Mesopotamia: Part 4 – End of Unit Presentation
Hammurabi Leadership Study and Law study: this was an intensive week long study into the leadership skills of Hammurabi and includes many activities, least of which was creating Mesopotamia dress up out of only a black bin bag and sellotape!
I am beginning to slowly go through world history again, this time with my little two. The following four posts I wrote for 123homeschool4me, so the links will take you there 🙂 They are chock full of activities and authentic food suggestions. This time I based their studies on the Gilgamesh trilogy.
Lastly, the children and I completed a short unit based on The Golden Bull by Marjorie Cowley:
Enjoy!

I love it! Thanks for sharing your studies with us.
Thanks Phyllis.
This makes me smile, partially because it’s always fun to see kiddos when they’re younger.
It is lovely to look back. They were so cute back then…..
So fun to see the kids so young (and in great costumes!)
Isn’t it? I rather lament the fact I didn’t have a blog back then.
What fun! Thanks for sharing the pictures! Brings back good memories.
Thanks for popping by Michele 🙂
