Blogmas {Day 5}

Blogmas

Soooo, after swimming yesterday, I came home, had a bath and then quickly wrote my post for yesterday. I was surprised to find that by around ten I was genuinely tired. Not exhausted and buzzy (my normal) but really relaxed and tired. Reflecting on why this was, I think the subdued lighting in the swimming pool was the reason. When I say subdued, I really mean it. I literally thought the pool was shut when I entered it, although I guess the fact Gary and I were the only ones there was also a factor.

Sleep

I mention the relaxed tiredness because I fell asleep before my audio book shut itself off (I have it on a timer for 20 minutes), I didn’t get up to go to the loo (#fivechildren) in the middle of the night (which is unheard of for me) and I slept in until ten. Ten!!! Apparently children had popped in, Gary was sitting upright on his iPad and I just kept merrily snoring away. Ten!! Even thinking about that now is ridiculous! Never-have-I-ever. What’s even weirder is that having woken up, I was still so drowsy that I fell back to sleep again…I dozed! I’ve never dozed in my entire life!

Christmas Celebrations

Christmas celebrations continued today with the girls’ children’s choir concert. Abigail had a reading and a solo and Becca sang in a trio as the ‘Three Ginger Ninjas’! There was a little girl at the front who danced all the way through which was just so joyful to watch! Gary had to rush off at the end because it was his work’s annual Christmas do.

I’d completely forgotten about Gary’s dinner and had thought we would go swimming again tonight. I mean, I guess we could go after his dinner but he’ll have had a few glasses of wine and probably couldn’t swim, let alone in a straight line! I’m gutted as I really wanted to have another good night’s sleep. I don’t feel comfortable going on my own. Although we were the only ones there at eight, by eight thirty about five men joined us. The only reason I didn’t get up and leave immediately was the fact that Gary was there. I will go on my own, but I want to become a lot more familiar with the place first.

I haven’t done too badly today regarding food. In fact, I made a lovely beef stew with a crispy baked potato and some broccoli for dinner. It was super good!

I’m going to leave you with my latest video, a studio vlog of behind the scenes of my art business from the past month.

How have you done today?
