A week or so ago I was in the kitchen creating some sedimentary rock with bones buried or half buried inside (like you do). In order to create one of the layers I needed to mix some earth with the plaster. I popped outside to find some and came across a pot with some lovely……

Review of Science Shepherd
As you all know, my seven-year old daughter wants to be a scientist when she grows up. She really does love all things science, so when we were given the opportunity to review the Introductory Science program from Science Shepherd, I jumped at the chance! A7 and I have been enjoying their daily lessons ever……
Jane Austen’s House
I have been meaning to post this for ages. We visited Jane Austen’s house during our staycation. Even the boys enjoyed this day out, although that may have been because we ended the trip at a quaint village restaurant for a huge feed! So without further ado…. The surrounding countryside: The house from a distance:……
A Place to Dream
Last Thursday our shed was built at the bottom of our garden. It took a little under two hours. As I admired it, I pondered the thought that I had perhaps escalated its size to incorporate eight or nine floors/levels. In my head this shed was going to be the answer to all my space……
Seasons of Joy: Crocheting and Wobbling through the Woods!
This week has been full of endings and beginnings; much sadness and much happiness. I am reminded than whenever God shuts a door, he will often open a window. And so this week has been a week of shut doors and open windows, and once again I am reminded of how blessed I am to……
Precious Moments
After a sad Friday (which I won’t go into as other people are involved), we were gifted with a weekend full of friends and busy-ness which was just what we needed. Sunday we all had a lovely day at church, followed by fellowship with another homeschooling family as they joined us for an impromptu picnic……

Plans for the Next Three Weeks
As we haven’t done full homeschool over the past couple of weeks due to Gary being home, I have taken the executive decision to begin a new three week term on Monday. This might very well mess up my entire year but c’est la vie… T14’s Goals Personal devotions each day (830-9) Complete fifteen lessons……
What’s in our Morning Meeting Basket this Term?
I have written about our morning meetings before. Throughout all the changes which have happened over the years, morning meeting is the one thing which has stood the test of time. In fact, at a time when all the older ones are pursuing their own interests and following completely separate paths, the morning meeting has……
When your five year old thinks she knows more than you…
“Mummy.” It was said as a statement. There stood my five year old, arms crossed, eyes serious. “Yes, darling? How can I help?” I answered, struggling to keep the grin out of my voice. I just knew something profound was coming. “Mummy.” Again, a statement. I raised my eye brows as she informed me, “I won’t……
Teaching Sons Leadership Skills: Justly Judging in Discipline Situations
Resources Plants Grown Up For Instruction in Righteousness Ten Commandments Poster Notebook for independent work Independent Work All these activities come from the huge selection suggested in Chapter One of Plants Grown Up. Teaching Daughters to be Women of God: A Godly Woman
Last week, as you know, we spent a week with a completely different focus to usual. The little ones were learning about beautiful girlhood, whilst the older girls learnt what it meant to be a Godly woman. Resources We used the following book. We have already studied Proverbs 31 using this book and it handily……
Beautiful Girlhood Part 1
Last week was all about purposefully encouraging my younger daughters to have a beautiful girlhood. Of course, we try to do that all the time, but last week I had time to actually focus on it. And can I just say, it ended up blessing me far more than my little ones 🙂 Beautiful Girlhood……
