Creative Letter Writing Ideas

creative Letter Writing Ideas

I was lost as to what to call this post. I’ve gone with creative letter writing ideas, but to be honest, it only gives one creative letter writing idea. I got absolutely no sleep last night…nada…zilch…zero. Needless to say, I am walking around like a brainless zombie, who is not certain what day it is, what time it is, or what my name is. My head hurts. So Creative letter writing ideas it is unless I come up with a better title over the next few days.

As much as it may not be truly reflective of the content, I do have one very creative letter writing idea. And that is to send a winter hedgehog care package for the reader in your life. In this case, it’s Charlotte, which will surprise absolutely no-one who regularly reads my blog.

Keeping In Touch with Our Adult Children

My paragraph headings are almost as bad! I get the feeling that if I were to read this post on Wednesday (I’m actually writing this in real time, so Monday afternoon), I will be mildly horrified by sentences that don’t make sense, titles that suck and spelling which is reminiscent of five year old Claire. Sigh.

Anyway, Charlotte moved out at the beginning of the year to begin her married life separate from her childhood home. Ads and Charlotte have been happily married for almost 18 months, but due to degree commitments, they decided to live with us until Ads was settled into his first job.

They live in a town house in an olde worlde small town, a stone’s throw from Charlotte’s place of work. I’ll be sharing some photos in my next Precious Moments’ post. While we do see them both fairly frequently (they only live 20 minutes away), I wanted to do something regularly and special just between me and Charlotte.

Creative Letter Writing Ideas: Winter Hedgehog Care Package

I know Charlotte likes my drawings, but I always feel like my products are perhaps better for children. But then I came up with the idea of making one of my winter designs black and white. Black and white seems more grown up to me. I was really pleased by how the print turned out. I signed it (literally, I have no clue why!):

It looks quite good two-tonal, doesn’t it? Of course, this inspired me to create a sticker sheet, some book marks, some book plates, a greeting card and a lovely notebook:

These were all chosen with Charlotte very much in mind. She is an avid reader, writes books, reviews books for different publishing companies and sells books as her job. She is a bibliophile through and through, so this was perfect for her. I wrapped it up prettily and sent it first class:

Creative Letter Writing Ideas: A Video

I recorded this video on Friday as I was making the care package. It contains something very special (mainly to me, but you might be interested). My granny wrote hundreds of love letters to her husband-to-be and husband, before and during the Second World War. I have been handed them to care-take until I, too, hand them down to my daughters. There are many plastic bags full of them. In this video, I read out one of the letters written in 1936 ❤️
