November Reading List

November Reading List

Well, I am well and truly back at uni studying for my final year of my master’s degree in Childhood and Youth Studies, and nothing proves it more clearly than the size of this month’s November reading list. It is, quite honestly, tiny.

At my last count, I’d managed a satisfying 102 books for the year, but this month I’ve only read a grand total of three. Three! Of course, I’ve ploughed through mountains of academic research papers, many of which feel like entire books squashed into a single journal issue, but sadly, they can’t be counted toward my official total.

So here I am at 105 books, staring down the daunting goal of reading 45 more before the year ends. Looking at the reality of my workload, combined with dissertation prep and eternal assignment deadlines, it’s not looking very feasible, is it?

November Reading List (aka the cold, hard truth)

Still, for the sake of the November reading list, here’s what I did manage to finish:

The Complete Conversations with God: An Uncommon Dialogue: Book I by Neale Donald Walsch (I’m not sure I can give you a rating for this because I’m not sure how I feel about it. I think it needs a reread!

How to Menopause: Take Charge of Your Health, Reclaim Your Life, and Feel Even Better than Before by Tamsen Fadal 5/5

Using Story Telling as a Therapeutic Tool with Children by Margot Sunderland. 5/5

Each book brought something different—insight, reassurance, or professional inspiration—and together they made this very small November reading list feel more meaningful than its size might suggest.

In conclusion, even though this year’s November reading list was short, it was rich in substance, and perhaps that’s exactly what this busy season of life called for.

I hope you have enjoyed my November reading list. If you’d like to take a look at the books I read in 2023 and 2024, please do visit my Books Read Over the Years Page. I shall endeavour to share one of these posts each month.
