The New Angelic Scalliwags Headquarters

This is a quick post to show you The New Angelic Scalliwags Headquarters. Last week, Gary took the whole week off to build me my perfect art studio.

We’ve had the large shed at the bottom of the garden for donkey’s years. First, it was Thomas’ music studio, then Ads and Charlotte study shed with Lillie using the side room for her art studio and for the past year or so it’s been our school room with Abs and I sharing the larger room and Becs using the smaller room as her art studio.

Why Now was the Time to Build The New Angelic Scalliwags Headquarters

Abigail’s Leaving Us!

Abigail will be leaving us in September to study at a Bible college in the Peak District, almost five hours away from us. We are all very excited about vthis for her, as her very favourite thing to do is basically anything which includes her Bible.

This has left me with the larger side of the shed to myself. And with no younger children coming up, it felt like the right time to transform it into something special.

My Incredible Husband

I chatted a little with Gary, saying that I’d sort of outgrown the beautiful office he had made me a few years ago. His response was that I should design exactly what I wanted and needed and he would make it for me!

We don’t have lots of money lying around, so I knew it needed to be done as frugally as possible. I think we ended up buying two wooden kitchen tops and four scaffolding boards, some paint and some wood stain. Everything else we reused from stuff already in the house or shed. Oh, and Gary bought some polystyrene coving to neaten up the edges where the ceiling met the walls.

A Week Later…

…And here is The New Angelic Scalliwags Headquarters! I can not even beging to tell you how much I love this room. I am SO incredibly grateful to have a husband who is so giving of his time, talent and love. Anyway, without further ado, here is the new Angelic Scalliwags head-quarters, aka my new art studio!
