Books Read in July

This year, it is my goal to read 100 books. I’ve been recording my books since the beginning of the year. You can find these posts below:

As always, these are a mix between actual physical books and Audibles books. I’m not quite on track for reading 100 books (I should be at around 58 books at this stage) but I’m not too far out. This month I read quite a few longer books and dragged my heels to finish one book I simply did not enjoy (The Picture of Dorian Gray – this surprised me because I usually enjoy Oscar Wilde’s writings but I found this a bit flat).

My goal in the coming month is to read 15 books, which will take me to where I need to be going into the home stretch when I’ll also be studying towards my master’s degree. I’m off from homeschool so hopefully I’ll have more time to read…

41. Love by Elizabeth Von Arnim

42. The 7 Habits on the Go by Sean Covey

43. The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde

44. No Excuses! by Brian Tracy

45. How to Get to the Top of Google by Tim Cameron-Kitchen

46. The Book of Sleep by Dr Nicole Moshfegh

47. Yellow Face by R F Kuang

48. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain

49. Ancient Mesopotamia by The Great Courses (6 hours left)

50. The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins (8 hours and 14 seconds left!)

The last two books I will have finished by the end of this week, taking me up to the very end of July. You may also have noticed that I have listened to less podcasts this month. The reason for this is The Woman in White! It is an 1800’s thriller which is 24 hours long and is one of the best books I’ve listened to this year (yes, I know, I say that about a lot of books! In my defence, there are a lot of good books out there!). Anyway, I can’t put this one down, and listen to it at every opportunity, including the times I usually listen to podcasts!

  1. Wilkie Collins is one of my favorite authors! A few years ago our library offered the Guttenberg Press collection on their digital format. I read so many vintage books and found so many authors that I love. I was really sad when they stopped offering it.

    1. Hi Pam! That is a shame 🙁
Have you read any other of his books? Do you recommend any one in particular? I can’t put The Woman in White down and I’d love a recommendation for another of his books xx
